Job Description:The RoleAs the Bond Trading -Product Area
Leader, you blend deep technology expertise with a dedication to
delivering client value. You will define and evolve the product
areas' vision, strategy and mission and ensure continued alignment
and prioritization of work with other key initiatives. In an agile
structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to resolve
product area level strategic priorities based on an understanding
of business partner needs and enable execution of these priorities
by the cross-functional squads aligned to your product area. You
will support these squads as they improve value delivered through
prioritization, creativity, innovation, collaboration, and decision
making and encourage them to work iteratively, innovate through
testing and experimentation and learn from failures while
celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own
knowledge and bring the latest thinking to your role to empower
others with that knowledge. -The -Expertise -and Skills You
Bring
- Minimum of 10 years of proven professional experience in
leading software technology teams with practical experience in
product development
- Financial services experience particularly in an Asset
Management setting is a must. You have deep proven experience in
asset management workflows and operational concepts
- Experience with trading systems is preferred. -
- Knowledge of bond market and asset management is
desirable.
- Agile leadership experience or solid understanding of agile
organizational models is essential
- Experience engaging with senior internal and external clients
and partners
- You are an experienced and an inspirational people leader,
skilled at setting strategic direction across multiple products,
segments, and experiences, and empowering, motivating and aligning
others to deliver results to achieve that strategy
- You have senior level experience defining strategic roadmaps
and leading the development of solutions and offerings aligned with
and in support of the strategic direction of the business
- You have a continuous improvement approach and encourage and
enable an agile way of working
- You have strong communication, interpersonal and relationship
building skills with which you influence and engage across Fidelity
and at all levels of the organization
- You take a data-focused approach to decision making, in
day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses
- You have or are committed to building a balance of technology
and non-technology skills in order to fully appreciate the broad

- Proactively partnering with domain, product area, chapter
area/COE, squad and other leaders to:
- Understand the needs of clients and other partners
- Define, evolve and communicate strategic priorities, the
product area vision and its mission, to implement the domain and
broader business strategy and increase the value delivered to
clients
- Measure performance through established and aligned objectives
and critical metrics and deliver agreed upon business, technology,
and people results
- Evaluate capacity needs aligned with strategic priorities and
ensure squad optimization through ongoing prioritization and
evolution of the squad missions
- Inspect and evaluate progress and remove impediments to
delivering value
- Supporting and encouraging squad leaders to build appropriate
learning opportunities to develop skills
- Assessing industry and customer trends and sharing insights,
knowledge, and developments across product areas and squads
- Compelling enterprise-wide alignment through collaboration,
knowledge sharing and breaking down silos to achieve the best
results for Fidelity
- Working with chapter area and other product area leaders to
develop technology roadmaps, to drive consistency in use of
platforms and APIs, to minimize duplication and manage the
