If our vision makes you smile, inspires you and makes you feel like you could move mountains; we encourage you to consider joining our team!The Licensed Financial Investment Services Coordinator works directly with registered representatives to accomplish individual financial advisor goals to meet member financial needs. This position will also work closely with other credit union areas of operation to integrate investment advisory services into the core offerings offered through VSECU and with third party broker-dealer contacts to maintain client information, system platforms and reporting.VSECU requires that candidates for this position currently hold valid FINRA Life, Accident, & Health, SIE, Series 6, and Series 63 licenses; additionally, FINRA Series 65 and/or Series 7 licenses would have added value.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Answer phones and contact prospects and clients to schedule and prepare for appointments assigned to financial advisors.Provide administrative support to financial advisors by maintaining a wide range of files and information, maintaining daily calendars, processing paperwork and expenses.Prepare, provide, and process documents for account openings and closings by the financial advisors.Set up, review, and maintain client submitted paperwork and files with appropriate information and in accordance with FINRA and the investment services group compliance standards.Accurately handle member client account information and maintain strict confidentiality practices for the protection and care of members.Handle routine inquiries and request for information with accuracy and courteous member service and reports specific problems to assigned financial advisor on an as needed basis.Process paperwork for annuities and life insurance.Effectively work with back-office support at broker-dealer operations.Organize and schedule outreach activities for financial advisors such as client luncheons, educational seminars, referral campaigns, tradeshows, and community relations.Collaborate and coordinate with Marketing & Business Development to identify and provide relevant content and information for mailings, e-mail blasts and web development from broker-dealer operations.Work with Member Relations staff to integrate investment financial services offerings into core product offerings provided by VSECU including communications, training, and staff coaching.Maintain an inventory of supplies and ensures updated prospectus and compliant approved marketing materials are available for financial advisors.Create and maintain a variety of reports to appropriate internal and external sources.Participate in educational seminars, conferences, and phone conferences to stay abreast of financial management services.Maintain strong knowledge of investment financial products, VSECU products, services and policies, and federal regulations regarding monetary transactions and reporting requirements.JOB COMPETENCIES:Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.Attention to detail and ability to analyze information and problem solve.Highly competent and able to assess, understand, and meet member financial needs and to help members by referring them to other retail staff when appropriate.Excellent listening skills and ability to demonstrate empathy, confidentiality, patience, and tact when working with members.Strong ability to communicate in a positive, polite, and helpful manner and to respond appropriately to member needs and requests with a wide range of individuals, including difficult and angry members.Ability to work cooperatively with others.Consistent and dependable regarding conduct and most always conscientious with appearance and behavior that fits a professional setting.Ability to work alone or in a team and to work overtime when department needs require extra effort.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Experience working in a financial services or customer service environment including performing financial transactions is preferred.Experience in a sales environment is preferred.Knowledge of financial service products, as well as credit union products and services.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft products and ability to prepare reports and spreadsheets.VSECU s normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
