If our vision makes you smile, inspires you and makes you feel like you could move mountains; we encourage you to consider joining our team!The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for performing a wide range of duties related to the servicing of loan accounts handling the day-to-day functions ensuring the proper operation and accuracy of accounts. In addition, this position is responsible for providing telephone and email support to external and internal members, performing account research and maintenance, fielding inquiries, and fulfilling servicing requests on all types of loan accounts.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform multiple loan servicing tasks including payments, advances, rate changes, quoting payoffs, data entry and preparing applicable notifications to internal and external members.
  • Determine proper loan system coding (e.g. product type, collateral codes, call codes, etc.), performs daily loan file maintenance and services loans on the host loan system.
  • Troubleshoot account-specific problems, as well as identify anomalies and trends that may indicate a larger issue.
  • Assist with various file maintenance quality control and assurance duties. This may include tracking of items and new accounts to ensure that documents are received, performing quality control review to verify document and system accuracy, and referring errors to the appropriate party for correction.
  • Perform report review of loan servicing related reports and processes.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date processes and procedures for all duties.
  • Provide top quality service working directly with co-workers while meeting service level agreements.JOB COMPETENCIES:
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with peers.
    • Good communication and writing skills.
    • Good organizational and computer skills including comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products and financial institution software desirable.
    • Able to multi-task, work under pressure to meet deadlines, and stay motivated.
    • Ability to handle data, generate reports, interpret data, identify potential problem anomalies, maintain accurate records, troubleshoot and research account information.
    • Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to provide excellent customer service.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
      • An Associate's degree in business, accounting/finance and or one to three years' experience with a financial institution, or comparable combination of general education and general work experience desirable.
      • Knowledge of loans and lending practices.
      • Knowledge of credit union products, programs and services.VSECU's normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
