Job Description:
This is technical services work in performing difficult and
moderately complex engineering duties in a variety of field and
office engineering specialties. Work is performed under limited
supervision. This position serves as a member of the Maine DOT
Property Office based out of Region 3 in Wilton, Maine. Primary
responsibilities include conducting topographic, GPS, construction,
and other survey work as part of a field crew. Additional
responsibilities include maintenance and calibration of survey
equipment and vehicles. Work requires the ability to use complex
electronic survey equipment and related software, computer skills
to process survey data, and perform editing tasks associated with
research and data entry in Realty Management System (RMS). May act
as survey crew chief on an as-needed basis. This position requires
attention to detail and a commitment to acquiring accurate survey
and property information. Applicants with prior survey experience
will be given preference for this position.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide
evidence of the following experience:
Five (5) years of experience in engineering -OR- an Associate
Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3)
years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in
Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of
experience in engineering.
