Job Description:
The Division for Student Success is seeking a temporary,
part-time (25-30 hrs,.wk.) Administrative Assistant who will be
responsible for providing support to the Vice Provost for Student
Success and Innovation (VPSS&I)/Dean of Student Experience and
Belonging (DESB) for effective operation of the Division and all of
its functions. This position will work closely with the VPSS&I
to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, time
frames and budgets for projects and new initiatives. Additionally,
the Administrative Assistant will perform various coordinating
tasks, like scheduling and event planning, along with
administrative duties like maintaining project documentation,
assessments and handling external communications. The
Administrative Assistant for Student Success is responsible for
supporting efforts by the college to create an environment of
acceptance and belonging for all community members.
Responsibilities and Duties: Maintains the DSEB’s appointment
calendar and composes and prepares routine correspondence. Serves
as point of contact and resource on behalf of Student Affairs
Departments and responds to information inquiries. Acts as initial
contact person for calls from parents, students and other community
members. Prepares business office forms (webportal, requisitions,
payment requests, UCM) and maintains the Departmental Credit Card
(including reconciling receipts and charges). Organizes student
forms for DSEB’s signature and distributes completed forms to
copied recipients. Prepare all required reports, records and
evaluations promptly and accurately as assigned. Prepares and
submits PAF’s for student affairs positions and keeps payroll
apprised of any staffing and salary changes. Develop and maintain
project plans and schedules as assigned by the DSEB. Responsible
for Team Coordination and Communications Gathers data for research
projects Be highly visible, maintain office hours, serve on
institutional committees as directed by DSEB. Maintains a master
student affairs calendar and student leader listing. Plans,
prepares for the Honors and Awards Ceremony in concert with the
Academic Affairs Administrative Coordinator. Assists with plans for
Commencement ceremony and Student Speaker Selection. Other duties
as assigned. Physical Demands: This position will require climbing
up and down stairs to execute routine job functions and ability to
lift 20 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable

Required/Preferred Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree is
required; a master's degree in Student Personnel, Student Affairs,
or Higher Education is preferred. 3-5 years in an administrative or
project management role. Knowledge of and experience in working
with students who have learning differences and/or are on the
spectrum is desired. Must be comfortable working in a professional
office setting, with strong interpersonal, written and oral
communication, ability to prioritize, work independently, and pay
close attention to detail. Individuals who are able to work in a
continuously changing organization and are highly motivated are
best suited for this position. Enthusiasm, creativity and
flexibility required. Must be willing to actively engage in
professional development; projects may require learning new
programs. Preferred Experience: Service in a high-demand,
multifunction office with the ability to interact with many people.

tact, efficiency, ability to self-direct. Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
Organized and effective at prioritizing and completing tasks.
