Accepting applications for a Service Technician position at our Pawcatuck location. Our primary repair types are our own used vehicles and maintenance/light repairs for our customer base. We work on a variety of vehicle makes. No nights, no weekends! Applicants must have own tools, clean driving record, and willingness to work as part of a team. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs Establish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on a limited amount of equipment in the facility Perform timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs, and maintain a clean and safe work area Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs Coordinate and make recommendations on work-related contracts and services Supervise outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance Participate in, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and lean initiatives and requirements Qualifications Must have mechanical and technical aptitude 1-3 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environment Good interpersonal and communication skills Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings Experience using basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gauges Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems Basic computer knowledge to complete data entry Must obtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment such as, forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry picker Excellent customer service skills Basic computer skills Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality Ability to collaborate effectively Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required Valid driver's license and clean driving record What We Offer Health insurance 401(k) plans Employee events Family-owned and operated We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
