Job Description Job Description Commercial Landscape Estimator Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Landscape Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and profitable bids for commercial landscape construction and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of landscape construction methods, and the ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Bidding Review and interpret project plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for sitework, planting, irrigation, hardscape, drainage, and related scopes Develop accurate labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material cost estimates Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and supporting documentation Analyze project risks, identify value engineering opportunities, and ensure competitive pricing Meet bid deadlines and maintain organized documentation for all submitted bids Pre-Construction & Collaboration Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess existing conditions Coordinate with sales, project managers, and operations teams to ensure smooth project handoff Assist in developing project schedules and preliminary budgets Clarify scope gaps, exclusions, and assumptions prior to submission Support contract negotiations when needed Cost Control & Reporting Maintain historical cost data and production rates Assist with job cost tracking and post-bid analysis Identify trends in material and labor pricing to improve future estimates Help develop standardized estimating processes and templates Qualifications 3 years of commercial landscape or construction estimating experience Strong understanding of commercial landscape construction practices including irrigation, hardscape, grading, and planting Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, civil plans, and technical specifications Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines Excellent communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with public works or large-scale commercial bidding Knowledge of project management software Bilingual (if applicable to your market) Degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience 401k Health benefits Paid time off Work Environment This position is primarily office-based with occasional site visits and pre-bid meetings.
