Test Engineer Location: Seymour, CT (06483) Job ID: #64570 Contract Length: 1 Year Send Resumes to Christa Franco at Cfranco@butler.com Summary:Assist in all areas of Test Engineering and Test Development Process / Methods.Work closely with customers to aid in the test development process.Perform the duties of Test Liaison to all other departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Interface directly with customer engineering personnel and management personnel to develop efficient, sound and cost-effective test strategies.Provide production test support for New Product Introduction / Training / TroubleshootingMaintain test setups, equipment and procedures.Maintain and program ATE equipment:HP3070, GenRad, Takaya, Boundary Scan, NI LabView, JTAG.Create test department metrics reporting on product yield and efficiency. Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Test Engineering Skills:Strong knowledge of MCU, uP, FPGA, CPLD based designs that are used in applications involving high end products and technologies.Ability to react and make sound decisions to create solid test plans based on strong knowledge of current designs and component technologies. Specific RF Technology Skills:Knowledge in areas of RF and Microwave Theory and ApplicationsKnowledge of Transmitters, Receivers, Radar Systems and Power SplittersKnowledge of RF Design Tools such as Genesys, ADS a plusFamiliar with Phase Noise, Attenuation, AGC measurement techniques Computer Science Skills:Familiar with program and development tools related to High End SMT based designs. Education and/or Experience:BSEE, or equivalent from a four-year college or university.Prefer five to seven years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills:Ability to read and speak English fluently.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence. Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving simple variables in standardized (normal) situations.
