Job Description:
The Baker Company, located in Sanford, ME, has led the industry

Engineer is responsible for design and development of mechanical
and electrical systems on new and existing products. Scope of work
includes planning and coordination of prototype fabrication,
testing and documentation in accordance with applicable codes and
standards.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESParticipate in new
design/modification prototype testing to ensure product design and
functionality meets regulatory standardsConceptualize, plan,
organize, and conduct detailed mechanical and electrical designs
Create engineering CAD drawings, schematics, BOMs and BOOs;
document design and technical data using accepted engineering
practices Manage projects through the design, development,
manufacturing, and installation phases including defining design
requirements and managing the scheduleEffectively communicate
concepts and design through presentations, reviews, and team
meetingsInteract closely with engineers, suppliers, customer
service, manufacturing, and quality to solve problems Work with
customers to determine requirements and provide responses to
customer requestsProvide information and support to the
manufacturing department as neededGenerate and execute engineering
change requests (CRs) as described in the company's CR
processAdhere to all safe work practices and contribute to the
health, safety, and environmental program and cultureMake every
effort to focus on doing-it-right to make sure the customer is
happy or satisfied with our unitsProvide value to our customers by
using Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in
all forms (scrap/rework, transportation, motion, waiting,
inventory, over production, over processing, and under-utilization
of people). Uses systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to
end and works to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root
cause of problems. Is involved in individual and/or team activities
that involve using Lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of

REQUIREMENTSMust be able to lift materials and parts weighing
between 30-40 lbs. occasionally (10%-20% of the time)Must be able

to work at a computer for up to 100% of the time MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTSBS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related field of
EngineeringMinimum 3 years relevant, work-related
experienceEffective technical skills to translate concepts from
others into detailed designProblem-solving skillsCreativityStrong
verbal and written communication skillsCompetent with basic
electrical test and measurement equipmentWorks well in a team
environment3D CAD experience (Solid Edge preferred)Project
