WSP is currently initiating a search for a Associate Geotechnical
Engineer for our Shelton, CT office.
Your Impact
Field observation and special inspection of subsurface
investigations in soils and rock
Perform geotechnical engineering design and analyses for bridges,
buildings, tunnels, underground structures, and retaining walls
under the supervision of senior engineers
Support preparation of geotechnical memoranda, data reports and
design reports
Field observation and special Inspection of geotechnical
construction
Assist task leaders in preparation of reports and Contract
Documents

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or closely related
discipline
1 to 3 years of relevant post education experience
Good understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering and
related disciplines (Structures, Civil, Environmental, and/or
Planning)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (ability to
communicate effectively with managers, and other staff, clients,
and other disciplines)
Ability and willingness to travel and perform field work
Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle
screening
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company
funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct
and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to
abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment
policies
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. degree in Geotechnical/Tunneling Engineering
Engineer in Training Certification
Prior design experience
A member of and/or actively participate in local professional
practice organizations
