In this pivotal role, you'll drive cutting-edge automation strategies, working closely with both internal teams and external partners to design, install, and launch advanced automated systems. You'll collaborate with engineers and operations experts to optimize current technologies-while pioneering the next generation of intelligent, efficient manufacturing solutions. Client Details My client is a leading company specializing in precision casting and advanced manufacturing technologies. They focus on delivering high-quality, complex metal components for a wide range of industries, emphasizing innovation and excellence in their production processes. Description This role will report directly into the Director of Automation Engineering and be responsible for Managing automation capital projects from design, integration, installation, and commissioning, ensuring they are delivering expected value to Plant Operations. Reviewing existing automation systems to identify opportunities for improving safety, manufacturing efficiency, quality, throughput, and supporting vertical integration across plant boundaries. Researching, designing, and developing control systems for industrial use by applying knowledge in control engineering. Acting as a technical expert across the campus, troubleshooting automated equipment and robotic cells. Diagnosing problems and performing repairs or modifications on automated production equipment, using advanced electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills while minimizing downtime and preventing recurrence. Upgrading obsolete or hard-to-source components to ensure system reliability and maintainability. Ensuring proper documentation of electrical controls and maintaining source code management for software programs. Collaborating with IT, Plant Operations, and external contractors to streamline and promote enterprise-wide automation solutions. Training shop floor personnel and maintenance/engineering technicians on the operation and troubleshooting of automated equipment.
