Inspector FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Position Status: Direct
Work Hours: 7:00AM - 3:30PM SUMMARY Responsible for performing
detailed inspections on aeroderivative Gas Turbine engines and
related components using overhaul manuals, standard practice
manuals and WGPW established procedures. Strong-dimensional skills
are required and previous experience in the aerospace industry is a
strong plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The position
includes but is not limited to the following essential duties and
responsibilities Review job orders, customer specifications and
build standards prior to inspecting parts. Perform initial,
in-process and final inspection of industrial engine parts and
modules using a variety of inspection tools per the inspection
procedures manual, Overhaul manual (OHM) and other related
documents. Determines condition of parts and/or modules, identifies
requirements and initiates appropriate processes. Review parts to
ensure that all required fits and clearances are taken, recorded
and are within specified limits. Interact with Component
Repair/Vendor Administration concerning in-process inspections,
repairs and/or any problems with work instructions. Work
independently, referring only unusual conditions or circumstances
to engineering. Ensure that customer work instructions are carried
out Maintain a safe and clean work area and adhere to all
housekeeping requirements. Follow all safety procedures and rules
and properly wear all safety protective equipment as required. Read
and interpret complex drawings and blueprints. Conduct oneself in a
businesslike manner and in the spirit of teamwork. Maintain
inspection and repair documentation. Perform special projects as
assigned by management. May be required to work at remote locations
due to fluctuating workloads. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are

good working knowledge of jet engine component repair procedures
required to determine proper repair actions. Aptitude for
comprehending and interpreting documents encompassing safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to interpret and apply a variety of instructions furnished
in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to calculate
figures such as percentages, ratios, area, circumference, and
volume. Ability to apply the concepts of math as it relates to
engine repairs, fits and clearances, and running positions.
Capacity to solve unusual problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent mechanical skills, a high level of manual dexterity
including hand-eye coordination and the ability to accurately use
precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial
indicators. Must be able to read, interpret, document, and use
manufacturer’s technical manuals, service bulletins, illustrated
parts catalogs, assembly drawings, AOS sheets and WGPW assembly
records. Able to use manufacturer’s special tooling and lift and
turn equipment effectively and safely. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two-year certificate or degree from college, technical school or
equivalent plus additional broad specialized training in an
aviation or technical school, military training or greater than ten
years related experience; or equivalent combination of education
and experience. PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS While performing
the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
stand, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, and
controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; reach
with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or
crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and
move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While
performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally
work in high places and in outside weather conditions or be exposed
to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, solvents,
