US Foods, a leader in the foodservice industry, is seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet vehicles, primarily focusing on diesel engines. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet, helping us deliver quality service and products to our clients across America. As part of our maintenance team, you'll work on a variety of mechanical issues, apply your expert knowledge of diesel engines, and use advanced diagnostic tools to address and solve problems, ensuring our fleet is operational and reliable. Perform routine vehicle maintenance and repairs including engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, and HVAC systems Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical failures on diesel engines Work with diagnostic equipment to pinpoint issues and develop solutions Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines Maintain accurate records of each repair and maintenance work carried out Collaborate with the logistics and fleet management teams to schedule maintenance and minimize vehicle downtime Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics and components Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools Ability to physically handle the demands of the job including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for long periods Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and organizational skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k ASE Diesel Certification Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – optional but preferred
