Would you like the opportunity to support and develop a wide range of programs and services for vulnerable children and families - and work alongside a diverse group of smart, committed and talented program leaders for one of the oldest and respected social service agencies in the state JOB SUMMARY The Manager will lead the development and maintenance of a major grant funding portfolio built on the acquisition and renewal of competitive state, local and federal grants and other funding opportunities. This position will require the successful interface and relationship management with senior leaders and managers, staff, funders, and other external stakeholders. The Manager will be responsible for a combination of grantseeking and post-award grants management activities, including: prospecting for and prioritizing opportunities; grant writing and packaging of program information for submission to grantors according to requirements; supporting or completing grant reporting to funders; and, developing, documenting and continuously improving internal processes and systems necessary to manage and improve the grant portfolio. In conjunction with the Vice President, this position will provide technical advice and assistance to promote sound program design and implementation planning. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and drive development of multiple, and potentially complex, grant proposals with various internal and external parties simultaneously; coordinate multi-agency collaborative proposals. Manage internal process for making recommendations about funding priorities, options, opportunities, in alignment with the agency goals, relevant research, and system level. Update, improve, and complete programmatic grant funding renewals Working with and leading program, clinical or other staff, effectively design and package programmatic, clinical, and other information into a cohesive, compelling and successful grant proposal. Conduct research on programming models, services, and best practices to influence innovation and quality in proposals. Conduct prospect research; analyze grantors funding history, patterns, and potential. Communicate and report to leadership about the working grants inventory and pipeline regularly and as requested. In conjunction with other leaders, cultivate relationships with identified funders/agencies on behalf of The Village. Maintain or promote positive relationships with current or potential collaborators and funders. Work with agency leaders and staff to negotiate/execute agreements and contracts and to complete required reporting as appropriate. Work independently and as a part of a team; coordinate the Advancement department and Development staff. Represent The Village on external planning/advisory committees or councils, as assigned Coordinate and supervise the work of outside consultants Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management Experience and Skills: A Bachelor's Degree required. MA/MSW preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of specific Federal, state, local agency funding processes, guidelines and regulations. Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Self-motivated: ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Ability to determine priorities, handle multiple projects simultaneously and perform under deadline pressures. Must be very detail oriented and have excellent project management skills. Demonstrated ability to make logical judgments utilizing critical thinking and independent decision-making skills appropriately. Demonstrated success in developing effective working relationships. Demonstrated ability to function as part of a team. Five (5) years leadership experience in public administration and/or health and human service field. Demonstrated knowledge of grantseeking processes and proven track record of securing grant funding. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grant writing and editing. Knowledge of The Villages service population and array; familiar with commonly used data sources for grant-related research. Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
