School and Conant High School are seeking a positive,
learner-centered professional to lead our School Counseling team.
The ideal candidate will have leadership and school counseling
experience, as well as skills and knowledge that will enable them
---Co-lead with building Principal and Assistant Principals in
fostering a safe, learner-centered culture that ensures learners
are inspired, engaged, and empowered to thrive in their lives and
communities both in and outside of school.
---Serve as lead Middle/High School Administrator in the area of
learner support, future planning, and academic well-being.
---Serve as School Counselor to reduce caseload as needed.
---In coordination with Principal, create and implement a vision
for success within the counseling team that aligns with district
and school specific visions.
---Manage and lead the transition of learners from elementary
school to middle school, and from middle school to high school.
---Create and maintain a climate that encourages and respects
diversity, safety, and an optimal learning environment.
---Create structures, protocols, and processes to ensure proactive
involvement with learners in the areas of goal setting,
career/future planning, and academic achievement.
---Ensure collaboration between the members of the counseling team,
teachers, learners, parents, and community.
---Facilitate the implementation of the counseling vision for
support, to include delegation of tasks, efficiency of workflow,
and adherence to policies, principles, and values that define
success for our learners.
---Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with community
resources (ie. River Center, Reality Check, Antioch, etc.) in
support of learner's social/emotional and mental health needs.
---Create and maintain structures and processes for post-secondary
planning and success for all learners.
---Assist Principal with the development and implementation of
administrative functions specific to the counseling team (ie.,
budgeting, facilities management, safety management, etc.).
---Create and maintain systems for the collection of data relative
to current and former learners to improve services and programs
(ie., standardized testing data, post-secondary attainment
information, alumni surveys, etc.).
---Research and implement best practices relative to improving
student achievement in academic success and post-secondary
attainment of learner goals.
---Plan, organize, and implement schoolwide testing, and assist
other administration in training staff in best-practices for
utilizing data to inform and influence instructional practice.
---Lead in the development and implementation of mediation programs
for learners, including adult-facilitated and peer-led mediation of
---Lead the development of the middle and high school master
schedule to ensure maximized learner opportunities that also
reinforce learner's future planning goals.
---In conjunction with the extended learning opportunity
coordinator, implement the personal learning plan and future
planning curriculum for all high school learners.
---Train staff and ensure implementation of research-based
curriculum and programs to support social/emotional learning in the
middle and high school.
---With district personnel, oversee implementation of a
Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) for learner interventions and

committee work in accordance with school and district needs.
---Monitor and ensure compliance with all section 504 legal
