their success. What Will You Be Doing? The CVP of Retirement
Research leads a team of highly-motivated research professionals to
provide actionable insights into the retirement industry, including
both retail and institutional business. These insights are provided
through a strategic program of benchmark surveys, discovery
research, and thought leadership across a wide range of topics.
This position is responsible for developing and executing the
research strategy and agenda; providing direction and assistance on
primary and secondary research projects; communicating research
results through articles, presentations, and other media; managing
networking meetings; and writing articles for internal and external
-- This position works closely with LLG's head of Retirement as
well as member relations and sales, and reports to the SVP of
Member Benefits and Research. As a thought leader, the CVP is
frequently called on to meet with LLG members, the media, and other
important audiences to share research findings, commentary, and
insights. This role is also heavily involved in activities relating
to LLG's Secure Retirement Institute advisory board. Who Are You?
The candidate should have a solid background in the retirement
industry. Strong leadership, research, communication, and
presentation skills are critical. The ideal candidate should also
have demonstrated successful project and people management skills
along with maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work effectively
with others. A collaborative management style is important, as is
the ability to strategically plan for talent growth. A deep
commitment to listening and collaboration, and a bias toward action
are key attributes for success. You must be ready, willing and able
to lead a dynamic team that is passionate about bringing people
together to have an optimal experience and identifying ways that
our association can help our members address common issues across
the retirement industry. Skills
- Ability to uncover, understand, and translate business issues
and concerns into a valuable program of member benefits that could
include research, communication, and/or networking as component
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities; ability to adapt
to changing priorities
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of business issues in
the insurance and financial services industries
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail, logical/critical thinking and
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management,
staff, customers, and vendors
- Self-motivated; ability and willingness to seek out work and
the drive to accomplish goals
- Ability to conduct business analysis and requirements gathering
Experience MA required, PhD preferred. 15+ years of research
experience, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in research
