Senior Strategic & Major Bid Account Director Salary: --Competitive depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + additional estimated On Target Earnings of between --45,000 - --60,000 Working Pattern: Permanent - Full Time, 37 hours per week - Flexible working options available About the Department SSE Enterprise Telecoms is one of the UK's leading connectivity providers, we operate a 20,000km private telecoms network and are on net at over 80 data centres that span the UK. Offering a wide range of products and integrated solutions including Ethernet (including DIA & FTTx solutions), Optical and dark fibre services as well as leading edge SD-WAN. With a diverse range of customers from large Enterprises, Wholesales Service Providers and the Public Sector and over 20 years of industry knowledge and experience we are well positioned to support customers with class-leading connectivity and data centre services that deliver cost efficiencies as well as a competitive edge. The successful applicant will lead the expanding Strategic & Major Bids team and will use their existing relationships to help them deliver against target selling SSE Telecoms innovative solutions to their client base. What is the Role Dual Sales & Sales Management role: The dual role is split between sales management of a small team of Strategic Account Directors to achieve its aggressive revenue growth targets and, leading by example, creating and driving your own new revenue sales from large and strategic accounts, working collaboratively across the Wholesale team. Leading by example, generate Sales & Revenue growth through New Customer Development including: - Uncovering, developing and managing Major, Strategic & Complex bids (--10m TCV+), to successful conclusion, managing the virtual team across multiple functions to support your sales goals. - Generate new business revenues, across a defined set of prospective clients within the MNO, System Integrator & Tower/Small Cell vertical markets (both new to SSE & billing). - To establish, develop and manage at C level, Strategic Relationships with MNO, System Integrator & Tower/Small Cell operators to deliver mutually beneficial partnership strategies and strategic alliances. - Advise and help shape SSET investment strategy (new product, network enhancements and commercial improvements) using your customers to anchor any investment. - Embrace matrix teamworking across the entire SSET business development team to develop and close new business orders to deliver sales targets. - Provides comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business from new and/or existing accounts. - Provides accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities in order to meet or exceed sales quota requirements - Sales engagement in development of target market / client specific commercial / product propositions required to achieve success. - Working with marketing, create a sales campaign to create new opportunities within your target markets, identifying and exploiting SSET USPs. - Enforcing and proving the pursuit of customer focused sales methodologies Management of Strategic & Major Bid Sales team: Work with a team of Strategic Account Directors to develop and close new business orders to deliver the Strategic sales team targets. Team Performance Management: Ensure opportunities are developed & progressed across the Strategic & Major Bid sales team, ensuring that all data is accurately recorded within the CRM, and that team & individual performance is accurately and regularly reported. This will include day to day management of personnel, objective setting, appraisals and performance management for low performers. Developing innovative sales strategy: Working with your team, develop sales strategies to engage with your target clients, building upon SSETs benefits and your experience, develop innovative and profitable solutions that deliver your customers value. Drive new Product Development and Network Investment: Working across the sales team, help identify and anchor new product, capabilty or network geography investments to help secure new business revenues. Marketing: Contribution to sales campaign development and networking events, both in the UK & abroad What do I need? Essential Functional/Technical Skills/Qualifications - Must have experience in leading complex sales teams to success - Articulate, confident and tenacious with the ability to self-manage and act on one's own initiative against pre-determined sales targets and objectives. - A minimum of 5 years' experience selling into Wholesale vertical, with experience in either selling into Systems Integrator, MNOs or Tower Operator markets being beneficial. - Commercial and business acumen - Customer focused behaviours and mentality - Internal stakeholder management - Strong analytical skills and ability to influence shaping of commercial sales propositions. - Previous experience in providing commercial input to straightforward product sales. - Excellent verbal and presentation communication skills. - Literate including the grammatical correctness and structure of written communications - High level of professionalism with strong presentation and technical qualification skills. - Demonstrate tact and persuasion in both internal and customer discussions or meetings - Knowledge of strategic selling: Miller Heimann, SPIN, TAS or similar proven methodologies Personal Attributes - Highly organised, disciplined and professional with the ability to work accurately to demanding timeframes. - Business focussed and committed to delivering exceptional results. - Assertive and confident with a 'can-do, will do, want to do' approach. - Positive, determined and motivated by business challenge. - Ability to demonstrate a commitment to collaborative and innovative working. - Embraces and supports change. - Able to rationalise and make incisive decisions. - Must be a team player. - Flexibility to undertake regular travel in the UK will be required with occasional travel into Europe and North America. - Holds full current clean driving license We're committed to ensuring we offer our people a great place to work, with competitive salary, contributory pension plan and benefits package.
