Job Description Operations ManagerThe Operations Manager is responsible for quality electronic products production and timely delivery through the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality, safety, and regulatory measures, and fulfilling supervisory responsibilities following the company's policies and applicable laws. This is a critical position for our growing company, requiring both hand's-on critical thinking skills, and exceptional planning and management skills. Strong manufacturing background is necessary, with an innate desire to produce exceptional products and continuously improve. Responsibilities include manufacturing and materials planning management; staff development includes planning, interviewing, selection, and hiring; new and existing employee training; planning, assigning, and directing work; authoring and discussing with employees performance appraisals; addressing employee performance and corrective action plans; employee motivation and rewards; budgeting and reporting.
Successful candidates will be purposeful and self-directed, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position requires broad experience, the ability to perform a wide variety of tasks, and strategic thinking skills to anticipate needs and devise approaches that avoid reactionary responses and ensure success. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Organizational StructureThe Operations Manager reports to the CEO. This position serves on the Leadership Team.

    • Manage the growth and success of the team
    • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale through inspired leadership
    • Ensure timely production, procurement, and planning of daily operations
    • Communicate with all relevant employees to ensure delivery times are met
    • Plan, schedule, and review workload and resources to make sure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis
    • Manage key supplier and contract manufacturer relationships
    • Create and maintain detailed schedules to ensure delivery commitments are satisfied
    • Reinforce a high-quality mindset across the organization and ensure work is conducted to production and quality standards
    • Relentlessly champion continuous improvement across the organization
    • Make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions
    • Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures
    • Support Sales and Customer Service by providing timely and accurate production and delivery estimates
    • Plan and drive Operations staffing, assisting in recruiting, and hiring activities as needed
    • Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing
    • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
    • Work with the leadership team to ensure both short and long-term goal achievement
    • Ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA, UL, and other regulatory requirements
    • Identify and addresses problems and opportunities for the company
    • Support and facilitate worker communication with the management team
    • Improve operational processes to increase profitability and efficiency by streamlining and standardizing operations and inventory management
    • Resolve issues effectively and quickly for outcomes satisfactory to our customers while balancing the need for sustained profitability
    • Ensure your Operations Leadership team is healthy, functional, and cohesively working to see, call out and solve real problems
      An ideal week includes:
      • Weekly meetings with the leadership team
      • Meetings with direct reports and delegation of work as necessary
      • Team development, recruiting, and identifying talent for manufacturing roles
      • Review and report on team, contract manufacturer, and key supplier performance
      • Continuous improvement activities
      • Strategic Planning: putting methodology and solutions in place
        • This role reports to the President & CEO. His leadership style includes:
        • Hands-off approach with an open-door policy.
        • He will allow the individual to do their job and look for them to be creative and self-directed. The leadership team is comprised of 5-6 individuals, all of whom help drive company decisions.
          • Bachelors degree in Operations/Manufacturing or equivalent work experience
          • The candidate must have a minimum of 8 years experience in manufacturing management and operations, expertise in electronic product manufacturing, and familiarity with testing and quality control methods, practices, and procedures.
          • The candidate must be a strong conceptual leader and can self-motivate as well as motivate others.
          • The candidate must be process-driven, strategic with their decision-making, and use data to show this.
          • The candidate must: manage from a hands-on perspective
          • Must be able to dive in and do the job if needed but must also be able to delegate and motivate appropriately.
