Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: The assistant store manager is
responsible for assisting in day to day operations of the store,
including scheduling, training and supervising employees. The
assistant manager is responsible for assisting in the store's
profits and all controllable expenses, including labor, inventory
levels, and cash and inventory shortages. The assistant store
manager is responsible for maintain proper food safety, sanitation
and quality. The assistant store manager is responsible to aiding
in the cleanliness and appearance of the store and groundsPosition
Responsibilities: Store Operations:
- Enforce daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean,
adequately stocked, and well-kept at all times.
- Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional
manner.
- Ensure all merchandise is stocked and displays are attractive,
priced correctly, and displayed safely, for maximum
profitability.
- Assist in maintaining quality brand image standards to pass
evaluations.
- Change gas prices as requested by the home office.
- Ensure that the daily paperwork is complete and accurate and
properly recorded.
- Monitor cash over/short, inventory shrinkage, and drive offs
daily.
- Follow and enforce all company policies and established
procedures in store operations.
- Enforce all vendor policies and procedures.
- Enforce all safety and security issues and report any and all
unsafe conditions.
- Assist in the monitoring of vendors to assure proper stocking
and filling customer's special requests.
- Oversee or perform daily inventories of cigarettes and
lottery.
- Maintain an Underground Storage Tank Operator A/B license as
required by the State and designate a staff member to maintain
Operator C.
- Maintain Food Safety Certification. Supervision of all
Employees:
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training of individuals to
become members of the stores staff, ensuring excellent customer
service skills while maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
- Motivate, encourage and challenge store cashiers to provide
quick, efficient, and accurate service.
- Supervise and discipline all store employees according to
company policy.
- Assure communications with staff by way of a log book and/or
meetings as needed.
- Report all employee and/or customer incidents and accidents
following company procedures.
- Assist in performance evaluations/reviews and recommend staff
for rate of pay increases.
- Operates and supports staff in performing kitchen duties
including preparing, cooking, and packaging of menu items as
needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a Management role within a retail
operation.
- Maintain an Underground Storage Tank Operator A/B license as
required by the State and designate a staff member to maintain
Operator C.
- Possess a forward-thinking positive attitude.
- A self-starter who takes pride in the ownership of the Store
and all its responsibilities.
- Team focuses leader with excellent internal and external
customer service skills.
- Maintain ServSafe certification. Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays.
- Have the physical abilities to perform all duties as required
regularly. Including but not limited to standing for 8 or more
hours at a time and lifting 50 pounds.
