Senior Delivery Manager - Digital Services Competitive salary plus company benefits Norwich or London W1F (Remote working is also an option) Permanent, 37.5hr/week Williams Lea and TSO seeks a Senior Delivery Manager - Digital Services to join our team! We are looking for a Service Delivery Manager - Digital Services. With three direct reports, this client facing role will lead the delivery management team using Agile and PRINCE2 methodologies to deliver excellent solutions for our demanding clients, primarily in the UK Public Sector. You will be PRINCE2 and Agile Scrum accredited and confident to coach Agile methodology. It is essential that you have experience of either working with government or working closely as a supplier to government to provide digital services. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision. You must enjoy working with teams and finding innovative solutions for the broader market. Sound good so far? The Job: We are looking for an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to join our expanding development team to help manage the evolution of digital services that underpins the public sector business in Williams Lea branded as The Stationery Office (TSO). We work on projects that use a modern technology toolset. As a company, we are very focused on delivering market changing online services. You will be one of the experts contributing to those goals with your professional knowledge, expertise and work ethic. You will be working in a fast-paced organization using Agile and PRINCE2 methodologies to deliver excellent solutions for our demanding clients primarily in the UK Public Sector. You will be expected to be the senior member of a small team of Delivery Managers with responsibility to deliver projects assigned to you but also lead the team. TSO has exploited a heritage in providing solutions to the UK Public Sector to develop a strong Digital Services proposition offering transformational solutions to government to help meet the Government Digital Services (GDS) agenda for helping UK Government provide world class digital services. The Senior Delivery Manager is a member of the Digital Services Leadership Team. It is a client-facing role with responsibility to meet clients' needs and help shape the digital offering and strategy. The Digital Services team consists of over 70 technical staff covering Delivery Management, Application Development, Application Support and DevOps functions and is expected to grow further over the next few years as our Digital Services proposition continues to evolve. Main duties As a delivery manager, you will: build and maintain motivated teams, making sure there is an iterative plan to work towards protect the team and make sure the team collaborates, communicates and focuses on what is most important coach team members and others, facilitate continuous improvement and apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques for their environment proactively manage dependencies, overcome obstacles and get the best value against constraints potentially manage risks, budgets and people As the Senior Delivery Manager you will also: lead the delivery management team provide thought leadership in delivery management aligned with the UK Public Sector ideals contribute to bids represent delivery management on the Digital Services Leadership team The Experience: Skills Agile and Lean practices Able to identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use. Maintaining delivery momentum Able to facilitate the delivery flow of a team, managing the pace and tempo. Able to actively address internal and external risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the team. Making the process work Able to identify and challenge organisational processes of increasing complexity and those processes that are unnecessarily complicated. Able to add value and can coach the organisation to inspect and adapt processes. Guides teams through the implementation of a new process. Planning Understands the environment and is able to prioritise the most important or highest value tasks. Able to use data to inform planning. Able to manage complex internal and external dependencies. Able to provide delivery confidence. Able to remove blockers or impediments that affect the plan and is able to develop a plan for difficult situations. Ensures teams plan appropriately for their own capacity. Team dynamics and collaboration Able to bring people together to form a motivated team. Able to empower delivery teams. Able to help create the right environment for a team to work in. Recognises and deals with issues. Able to facilitate the best team makeup depending on the situation. Qualifications and Experience Educated to degree level or higher in Computer Science or relevant industry experience. Experience of the software development lifecycle and Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban. PRINCE2 and Agile Scrum accredited Ability to coach Agile methodology Experience of applying the principles of the Service Manual published on either working in government or working as a supplier to government is desirable Experience of working with external delivery partners would be an advantage as would working across an outsource service provider/customer interface Comfortable in communicating to all levels (including board or heads of function) Strong communication skills, both written and presentation A working knowledge or exposure to relevant ISO The Package: In return the Senior Delivery Manager will receive a competitive salary and benefits which includes Private Medical Insurance, Life Insurance/Life Assurance, Company Pension, Corporate Eye Care, Personal Accident and Company Sick Pay.
