Job Description:

The Director of Application is responsible for executing action plans consistent with and derived from the IT department's strategic goals. The Applications Director directly supervises a team that successfully delivers effective IT systems applications to the operational business unit(s). The Applications Director provides oversight to implementations, upgrades, day-to-day troubleshooting efforts, and coordination with the Informatics team. Provides oversight of budget and human resources allocation. Provides oversight of personnel implementing clinical/Revenue and Ancillary applications, support and development. Completes high-level status reporting and communicates high-impact changes to the organization. Interfaces with key leadership and Executive Director of IT in CT.Essential Job Functions:Develops and implements strategic plans, department goals and objectives, and business initiatives. Is responsible for executing enterprise wide processes and procedures that focus on best practices to allow for successful project execution.Directs and coordinates activities of staff engaged in project activities, system implementations, upgrades and workflow optimizations. Serves as a leader and problem solver to other staff within the department and across the organization. Maintains a visible presence on interdisciplinary committees and key work groups.Coordinates with hospital leadership, and other members of IT, to ensure delivery of accurate, effective systems that support patient safety, quality, and performance optimization goals. Prioritizes work monitoring performance standards for continuous performance improvement. Ensures reliability and availability of applications to meet business objectives.Simultaneously manages projects that are in varying stages of completion. Prioritizes projects and appropriately manages the allocation of resources. Ensures projects are completed on schedule and within budgets. Keeps leadership informed of key issues that may impact project completion, budget or other results.Communicates effectively to ensure prompt and proper information exchanges and issue resolution. Provides coaching and is a role model to staff. Creates a work environment that fosters respect, positive morale, and high employee engagement. Delegates appropriately, providing adequate direction and follow up.Required Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or Equivalent Experience in, Healthcare or Business related field.3 years of previous healthcare project management experienceAbility to plan strategically, develop objectives, and implement tactical plans to achieve desired outcomesAdvanced level knowledge of healthcare systems and applications to be able to successfully plan and coordinate activities and serve as a key resource to staff and others across the organizationExcellent writing and verbal communications skills in EnglishAbility to effectively plan for and optimally manage resourcesAbility to simultaneously oversee multiple large projectsVast knowledge of the healthcare industryPreferred Qualifications:Previous Experience leading teams onshore and offshoreClinical or Administrative Background or LicenseExperience across multiple healthcare setting (Ambulatory, Acute Care, Long Term Care and Payor
