POSITION SUMMARY
The Resort Appearance Manager is responsible for overseeing and
maintaining the custodial & grounds operations and appearance of
the Resort. This position oversees the snow removal, gardening,
mowing, and custodial operations in and around the base lodges and
office buildings. This manager and team will interact with all
departments at the resort and will support all events. This is a
full-time year-round position with a salary of $60,000/year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for staff management including but not limited to
hiring, scheduling, performance management, timecard management,
coaching, training, and recognition
- Pro-actively manage expenses and payroll; study costs, look for
irregularities, and meet resort needs/demand
- Collaborate with Senior Manager of Moutain Operations to create
annual budgets
- Establish contracts and preferred vendor relationships to
negotiate best pricing possible
- Oversee the resort-wide refuse, composting and recycling
disposal programs
- Maintain excellent guest and employee rapport to ensure
customer satisfaction remains at the highest level possible
(internal & external)
- Engage with the guest feedback system, responding to applicable
guest feedback receipts
- Upkeep of internal communication boards to ensure staff is
informed of resort events, department and divisional goals, guest
feedback, HR communications, etc.
- Create Action Plans for employee engagement and enablement
- Oversee and participate in snow and ice removal to provide safe
grounds for our guests & employees
- Manage maintenance of department heavy machinery, vehicles, and
other smaller assets
- Attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings as required
- Accountable for the timely completion and compliance of the
required trainings of your team members, including orientation,
service, safety and IT security trainings
- Support resort appearance staff in daily operations when
needed
- Other duties as requested by Resort & Mountain Ops leadership
team, VP of Operations or Senior Leadership Team

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years of supervisory experience with a strong custodial or
grounds maintenance background
- 2 year college degree or related experience
- Business acumen and financial management experience
- Excellent communications skills
- Valid Driver's License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and
holidays.
- Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum
of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office
equipment on a constant basis.
- Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile
devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending,
reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking,
kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of
communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
Mountain Environment:
- The primary physical environment in which this position works
is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind,
rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning,
etc...
- The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered
to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day
is common.
- Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or
hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or
equipment.
- Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and
painting Ultraviolet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack
of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in
activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of
metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and
tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual
functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily- reasonable
accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with
disabilities to perform the essential functions.
