Job Description:
Location: Wallingford, CT Salary: Negotiable Description: Our
client is currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager/Hybrid To plan,
coordinate and track the development of new or complex technologies
and their applications. To be involved with project definition and
implementation at the process level. To act as a key technical
resource to projects to plan the scope of software delivery
throughout the phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. To
manage Business Analysis, Software Design and Development and
Quality Assurance. Lead the estimation of software delivery efforts
and costs, manage schedule and costs throughout software delivery,
facilitate and lead software design and research efforts. Represent
the Software Delivery Team in all customer and third party
interactions. Independently applies a systematic, disciplined,
quantifiable approach to the development, implementation and
maintenance of software with the ability to lead software delivery
engineers.Develop project plans based on customer strategy Evaluate
and Define Scope for deliveries Define activities, sequence of
events, dependencies and duration of tasks to drive projects to
completion Manage project team resources and materials Facilitate
communication between all disciplines Facilitate problem resolution
and provide key insight to finalize decisions Implement processes
and procedures as outlined by Corporate and Customer objectives Act
as intermediary between the Customer and Project Teams Monitor
Project Deliveries Report status fluidly and continually for
Projects in Flight Analyze, Review, Maintain, and Forecast Project
Spending Coordinate Post Project Review with Internal / External
Shareholders maintaining focus on Continuous Improvement Perform
Post Project and Employee Performance Reviews Provide support for
Multiple customers Provide support for multiple simultaneous
projects for single and/or multiple customers Scope Complexity:
High: Projects maintain an aggressive timeline, with multiple
Change Requests to maintain, plan and manage. Deliveries in queue
can vary: Multi-Discipline 'Major' releases for Services,
coordination with multiple delivery streams for System Deliveries
and IBR (In Between Batch Releases) that have a small subset of
disciplines impact. Resources managed are usually less than 20.
Freedom to Act: Moderate/High - Works under limited direction.
Determines and develops approach for delivery. Work is guided
through mentorship. Impact: Contributes to the development of
organization's goals and objectives. Failure to achieve results or
erroneous judgments or recommendations will require the
intervention or direction of senior resources to restore project to
set deadlines and to correct potential issues that may have been
implemented. Diversity: Moderate: Team is very diversified and
includes international team members from various time zones.
Liason: Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer
contacts. Represents the organization on projects. Challenges:
Moderate: Scope of requirements may vary and multiple deliveries
can be in stream. Ideal candidate works well under pressure, adjust
quickly to changing requirements and maintains composure while
leading the team. Financial Accountability: Moderate: The Software
Project Manager is fully accountable for the on-budget delivery of
each of the projects in the program portfolios. Management Reports
to (Direct) Manager, Program Manager Reports to (Indirect) Matrix
Managers - based on project type and discipline Reports (Direct)
All assigned project team members for duration of assignment
Authority for Staff Managed Requesting resources and assigning
work, professional development in aligning skill sets to
deliveries, adherence to policies and procedures Influenced Project
personnel while still reporting to their functional manager are
expected to adhere to project policies and procedures and are
responsible to perform project duties as assigned Level of
Complexity for Managing / Organizing Staff High - Project resources
are in varying locations and communication / coordination are
paramount in maintaining project deliveries Education Minimum
Education Bachelor's Degree (Preferably in a Management / Business
or Information Technology Discipline) or Equivalent Experience
Experience 2 - 3 years related experience with demonstrated
proficiency in leading Project Teams Certification -Familiarity
with PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) -Knowledge of
SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) Essential Requirements
-Intermediate Proficiency in MS Office products such as MSWord,
Excel and MS Project Core Competencies ---Character - High degree
