maintenance activities at Pepperidge Farm's Bloomfield, CT
manufacturing facility (3 total ovens spread across three (3) Fresh
Bread production lines). Identifies and directs opportunities to
improve equipment reliability; recommends/implements changes to
existing Engineering & Maintenance practices; implements
improvements to minimize downtime and ensure the plant operates at
maximum efficiency; identify/lead training and capabilities
opportunities to build high performance maintenance team. Partners
with key stakeholders to support the plant's overall strategic plan
with a focus on Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
(SPQDC).Principal AccountabilitiesLead maintenance team's
capabilities to: Implements, manages, and drives equipment
maintenance and reliability programs, including Corrective
Maintenance (CM), Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM), and
Operator Asset Care (OAC) programs, to eliminate recurring issues
and achieve production/efficiency goals.Directs the work activities
of four (4) direct and twenty-one (21) indirect reports responsible
for the installation, maintenance, and repair of highly automated
food processing equipment, including advanced robotics technology,
and general upkeep of the facility structure, systems and grounds.
Provides appropriate resources to support all Engineering
projects.Identify and direct effective contractor/vendor companies
to support strategic maintenance/repair activities.Develops and
executes strategic initiatives to drive the
engagement/effectiveness of the Maintenance department functions in
alignment with overall plant objectives.Partners with other plant
departments and Corporate representatives to identify and implement
best practice solutions to support safety/quality/cost initiatives
and improve overall equipment effectiveness.Manages the maintenance
controllable budgets ($4.1MM) to ensure AOP commitments are
achieved.Develops and utilizes measurement processes, including
scorecards and other metrics, to track and report on maintenance
performance.Oversees the direct reporting functions of maintenance
purchasing and storeroom operations ($2.4MM value) to support plant
needs.Job ComplexityRequires ability to identify and apply
necessary maintenance/reliability tools and concepts to develop and
support a Preventive/Predictive Maintenance format, using the
latest equipment, technologies, programs and resources.Must be able
to quickly address technical related issues regarding
equipment/building/grounds, identify root cause of issue, and
direct the most efficient use of materials/manpower to
correct.Develop and drive training programs to support long-term
maintenance needs, which includes determining current skill levels,
identifying gaps, and pursuing training/development resources to
improve department skills and effectiveness.Work with a
multi-discipline team to identify opportunities to reduce downtime
and improve equipment reliability. The solutions may involve
modifying existing equipment to achieve immediate needs, while
providing technical expertise for long-term solutions.Must overcome
employee resistance to change by developing effective rationale and
related communications surrounding key maintenance initiatives and
drive acceptance of key improvement strategies.Must build and
leverage positive cross-functional relationships to address
identified issues and opportunities to implement best practices and
solutions to meet current and future business requirements.Minimum
Qualifications:Bachelors Degree required7+ years of Maintenance
experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food
processing/packaging industry, with 3-5 years of supervisory
experience required.Preferred knowledge, skills and
abilities:Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance practices and
facility equipment, including, but not limited to, boilers,
refrigeration, HVAC systems, and compressors.Experience with food
processing/food packaging equipment is preferred.Computer
proficiency and knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management
Systems (CMMS) such as SAP, as well as other software programs
(i.e. Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project).Excellent project
management, project scoping, estimating, scheduling and budgeting
skills required.Working knowledge of GMPs and sanitary design for
equipment specifications, installations and/or
modifications.Understanding of, ability to utilize and ability to
teach appropriate continuous improvement tools to deliver
sustainable results. Six Sigma certification preferred.Ability to
thrive in a team environment and to lead cross-functional teams to
achieve plant reliability goals.Excellent planning and
organizational skills and ability to successfully manage multiple
priorities and assignments.Outstanding technical, data oriented,
analytical, and problem solving abilities.Excellent verbal and
written communication skills.Outstanding interpersonal skills,
including ability to influence and motivate others.Working
knowledge of OSHA Standards for General Industry.Working
ConditionsThe working environment includes both office and plant
floor. Frequent exposure to industrial noise, moving mechanical
parts, temperature extremes, and elevated work stations occurs in
operating areas of the plant.Compensation and Benefits:The target
base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is
between$88,500-$163,700Individual base pay depends on work location
and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and
relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms
of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental,
401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of
