A Legacy of Delivering Quality Senior CareAsk about our updated rates and our sign on bonus!POSITION SUMMARYAs a member within a strong clinical team, providing amazing care to our Residents is the primary responsibility of our Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). You will perform necessary nursing care to assigned units/residents. This is an important role and must be completed In accordance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as facility's established nursing care policies and procedures. Reports to Nurse Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCLINICALMust be knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the applicable state laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the long-term care facility. ; we are happy to teach new graduates and nurses new to the Long Term and Skilled NursingMust be able to work as part of a health care team to assess resident needs, plan and modify care and implement interventionsEvaluate nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health care team members as necessaryAdminister prescribed medications or start intravenous fluids, and note times and amounts on patients' chartsObserve residents, charting and reporting changes in residents' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary actionProvide basic resident care and treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizationsSterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclaveAnswer residents' calls and determine how to assist themMeasure and record residents' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respirationPrepare residents for examinations, tests or treatments and explain proceduresAssemble and use equipment such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen suppliersRecord food and fluid intake and outputAssist residents with bathing, dressing, maintaining personal hygiene, moving in bed, or standing and walkingSupport food services with food trays and ensure conformance to prescribed dietPost mortem careAssist in the evacuation of residentsPROFESSIONALPossess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other LPNs, CNAs, MedTechs, and non-professional personnelWork independentlyImplement the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the facilityUnderstand and follow company policies, including harassment and complaint proceduresActively participate in Quality Improvement activitiesCommunicate and function in an interdisciplinary teamMaintain current knowledge of nursing practiceMust be dependable, regular attendanceEducation and ExperienceEducation: Graduate of an accredited LPN program Experience: New graduates are welcome!Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge and use of Electronic Medical Records and/or solid computer skillsStrong communication skills, both in writing and verballyEffective team skills Read, write, speak, and understand the English languageCertificates and LicensesMust be currently registered/licensed in MaineMust have CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment
