Please go to our website and apply via TalentEd system.JOB TITLE: .5 FTE LAB TECHNICIAN (Science Lab)JOB PURPOSE: To provide technical and set-up support and assistance to certified staff in science department for set-up of labs and ordering and maintaining materials including chemicals.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School diplomaAdvanced training/education desirablePrior related experience preferablePreferred major or minor in Chemistry or BiologySuch additions and alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptableRESPONSIBILITY/ACCOUNTABILITY:Responsible for quality and quantity of own work as assigned by certified teacher or building administrator.REPORTS TO: School Administrator/Certified TeacherPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Set up lab(s) and appropriate required materials for teachers for the day.Maintain current inventory of supplies and suggest items for acquisition as needed; catalogue material, supplies, and equipment including keeping chemical inventory.Provide technical guidance, assistance, and direction to students and teachers as needed.Assist students in making proper use of equipment and materials; make self available to assist students with special projects and/or assignments.Keep materials and equipment in working order, including being comfortable with chemicals.Be able to make-up agar plates, solutions and have a comfort level in working with acids and bases.Maintain an orderly environment for teaching/learning.Able to manager safe storage environment and disposal of chemicals.
