Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:The Clinical Program Coordinator is responsible
for clinical and programmatic coordination within Cancer Services.
The Clinical Program Coordinator is responsible for coordination of
activities related to a specific patient population and the
administration of direct patient care to this population. The
Coordinator functions as a clinical leader of multidisciplinary
teams, providing and coordinating care to patients and families.
Concurrent utilization and service review, consultation, patient
and family education, promotion of continuity of care,
preceptorship and committee work are required of this positionThe
Clinical Program Coordinator will partner with the Medical Director
for cellular therapy to co-manage the stem cell transplant clinical
program, which includes, among other things, assisting with
development of standard operating procedures; providing patient
education regarding the process of stem cell therapy; identifying
and coordinating the completion of all necessary pre-procedure
testing and collection of appropriate clinical information;
coordinating care and communication between patient, UVMHN
entities/departments, and vendor; providing appropriate clinical
information to billing and prior authorization teams to facilitate
reimbursement; reporting adverse events and serious adverse events
to the manufacturer or FDA; and, assisting with data collection and
analysis for quality improvement purposes. This position will be
shared with an experienced stem cell RN.EDUCATION:Current RN
licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont
is required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving
toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All
external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a
RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the
terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly
encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this
initiative.EXPERIENCE:ONS preferredFive years of relevant oncology
RN experience.
