Job Description:

Registered Nurse required to provide high-quality patient-centered care in a surgical setting, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with patients and families.


Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' conditions and care needs.
  
• Collaborate with the surgical team to define, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care for each surgical patient.
  
• Follow medication safety policies and procedures to reduce the potential for medication errors.
  
• Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and promotes positive patient outcomes.
  
• Document the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner.
  
• Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and critical thinking skills in priority setting and delegation.
  
• Provide age-appropriate care to patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
  
• Prepare rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are available.
  
• Communicate effectively with surgeons and team members to ensure accurate and safe care.
  
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.
    
  • Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire.
    
  • Previous surgical or labor and delivery experience, specifically assisting with C-sections.
    
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess basic computer skills.
