Must-Have: - Willingness to float to Inpatient Adult Behavioral
Health and Detox units - Behavioral Health Experience Description:
The Registered Nurse on the Adult Chemical Dependency unit is an
essential member of the patient care team. Responsible for the
delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing
process in all assigned areas. Conducts thorough admission
interviews and systematic physical assessments. Assesses the needs
for services from other health care professionals to facilitate
patient care delivery. Develops, implements, and revises
appropriate patient care plans. Documents patient conditions, care
provided, and responses to care diligently. Performs patient
education and facilitates groups. Provides care to patients ages 15
and older. Patients typically present with physiological dependency
to alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, and/or other
drugs. Many patients will also have associated psychiatric
diagnoses such as depression, psychosis, and bipolar disorder. The
unit operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Staff must be
trained and demonstrate competency in the application of restraints
and implementation of seclusion. Must monitor, assess, and provide
