be considered. An opportunity is available for an experienced
Registered Nurse with a strong background in operating room
nursing, particularly with vascular cases, to contribute to a Level
1 trauma center. This contract role requires expertise in open
surgical cases with a preference for candidates who have
endovascular experience. Ideal candidates will demonstrate
flexibility, accountability, and a collaborative spirit in a
fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Location Situated in
Scarborough, ME, this position supports a major medical center
known for its comprehensive trauma care and advanced surgical
services. The facility features state-of-the-art equipment
including Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive robotic systems,
and utilizes the Epic electronic medical records platform. The
operating rooms serve a diverse patient population with specialties
ranging from general surgery to pediatric cases. Responsibilities
Provide expert nursing care in a Level 1 trauma operating room
setting with a focus on vascular surgery. Manage patient care for
open surgical cases, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and
standards. Participate in a call rotation that includes five
weekday night shifts (7 pm7 am, 12 hours) and two 24-hour weekend
shifts within a 6-week period. Weekend call averages one in six
weekends. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize
patient outcomes and surgical efficiency. Maintain readiness and
proficiency with specialized equipment and surgical techniques.
Qualifications Current RN licensure with a minimum of 2 years
experience in operating room nursing. Proven capability in open
case vascular surgery is mandatory. Endovascular experience
preferred. CNOR certification highly desirable. Experience within a
Level 1 trauma center is required. Ability to work flexible
schedules including 12- or 10-hour shifts. Strong communication
skills and commitment to teamwork. Schedule Flexible scheduling
options: three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week.
Shift times 7 am7 pm or 7 am5:30 pm, with required call shifts.
