TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified
ICU/Critical Care RN in Ellsworth, Maine, 04605! Job Title:
Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum 2 years; 1 year of ICU experience required License: Active
RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Previous
Charge RN experience is highly preferred. Willingness to be trained
as Charge RN and work in that capacity as needed during the
contract. Skills in managing chest tubes, traches, drains, wound
vacs, IVs, PCAs, and insulin gtts. Ability to read and interpret
cardiac strips for ICU and Med/Surg patients. Description: A mixed
acuity unit with 9 ICU beds is available. Patient population
includes vents, sepsis, pneumonia, DKA, detox, CHF, and COPD
exacerbations. Surgical complications seen include total joints,
general surgical procedures, and urology cases. Patients with
substance use disorders present alongside other medical issues are
common. Pediatric patients may occasionally stay overnight after
surgery. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 based on acuity. Support
on the unit includes a charge nurse who takes an assignment on most
shifts. Respiratory therapy and hospitalist services are available
24/7. An intensivist is available on a rotation for consult but not
in-house. Centralized telemetry monitoring is conducted. Floating
may occur to Med/Surg or ED with respective patient ratios of 1:5
days and 1:6 nights. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and
travel pairs may work the same weekend. Holiday work is expected as
needed, with time off requiring manager approval. Scrub color must
