Job Description Job Description Salary: $85,000-95,000 Cornerstones of Maine is offering an exciting opportunity to become part of our residential young adult mental health program as Per Diem licensed nurse (RN). Cornerstones of Maine has been offering research-driven mental health services to young adults for almost a decade and we are continuing to expand with our new Residential Treatment Center (RTC), opened in 2025. A strong candidate has experience working in residential or in-patient settings with young adults who are struggling with obstacles to their mental health. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our multidisciplinary team. This person will play a crucial role in supporting the physical and mental health needs of our young adult residents, working closely with therapists and medical providers. This position is based at our RTC in Portland, Maine but requires travel to Cornerstones' other residential houses in Portland and Biddeford weekly for medication management oversight. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, health assessments, and management of medical conditions. Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor the physical and mental health of residents, identifying any changes in condition and responding appropriately. Facilitate groups and individual sessions for residents on wellness and self-care practices. Assist in crisis intervention and provide support during psychiatric emergencies. Maintain accurate documentation of medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing program development. Requirements: Current Maine State License as Registered Nurse Experience in mental health, behavioral health, or residential care settings preferred. Must be able to emotionally and professionally handle charged emotional situations Must be able to function independently when needed, as the sole medical personnel on staff. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in working with young adults experiencing mental health challenges. CPR and First Aid certification required. We address the current need for therapeutic services for young adults who have significant potential but are struggling with mental health issues that are obstacles to their ability to live independently.
