(RN) provides direct patient care, coordinates treatment plans, and
supports patients and families through assessment, planning,
intervention, and evaluation. The RN works collaboratively with
physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe,
high-quality, patient-centered care. Essential Job Duties Patient
Care Perform comprehensive patient assessments Develop, implement,
and update individualized care plans Administer medications and
treatments as prescribed Monitor patient status and report changes
to providers Provide wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical
interventions Respond to medical emergencies Documentation &
Compliance Maintain accurate and timely medical records Ensure
compliance with facility policies and standards set by the Joint
Commission (if applicable) Follow regulations established by the
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) when applicable
Adhere to patient confidentiality laws (HIPAA) Collaboration &
Communication Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary
team members Educate patients and families about diagnoses and care
plans Provide discharge planning and follow-up instructions
Delegate tasks appropriately to LPNs/LVNs and CNAs Safety & Quality
Maintain infection control standards Participate in quality
improvement initiatives Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
for patients Education & Licensure Requirements Active Registered
Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Associate Degree in
Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Current
CPR/BLS certification (ACLS may be required depending on setting)
Additional specialty certifications may be required (e.g., ICU, ER,
pediatrics) Experience Requirements New graduates may be considered
(depending on facility) 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience
preferred Experience in specialty area (if applicable) Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities Strong clinical assessment and critical
thinking skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with
electronic medical records (EMR) Ability to work independently and
as part of a team Physical ability to lift, move, and assist
patients Work Environment Hospital, clinic, long-term care
facility, or community setting May require 8–12 hour shifts
