Contract Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day Shift
with on-call rotation for weekends/holidays as needed Hours per

people heal. Roles & Responsibilities Plan, organize and direct
nursing services so residents receive safe, compassionate care
Develop, revise and implement nursing policies, procedures and
standards of care Lead quality improvement efforts and monitor
outcomes through audits and chart reviews Recruit, schedule and
supervise nursing staff while maintaining clinical competency
standards Serve as patient and resident advocate, ensuring rights,
confidentiality and dignity Collaborate with interdisciplinary
teams, physicians and department leaders to coordinate care Manage
controlled substances and narcotics procedures in accordance with
policy Oversee staff education, orientation and development
including precepting students Prepare reports, participate in
committee work and inform administration of risk and events Support
budgeting and resource planning for the nursing department
Qualifications Current, active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN)
license in the state of Maine Graduate of an accredited school of
nursing; BSN preferred Five years of management/leadership
experience preferred, with long-term care experience Acute or
rehabilitation experience preferred Basic Life Support (BLS)
desired Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational
skills Ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously
with staff and families Willingness to be on-call and work
weekends/holidays as needed Education Graduate of an accredited
school of nursing (BSN preferred) Knowledge & Skills Expertise in
the nursing process and patient care standards Regulatory
compliance and infection control best practices Quality improvement
methodologies and clinical auditing Medication administration and
safe narcotics handling Staff management, scheduling and clinical
competency evaluation Budgeting and resource allocation for nursing
services Strong leadership, communication and conflict resolution
skills Ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams
