Locum Tenens General Medicine Nurse Practitioner Needed (Near Madawaska, ME) - ASAP - Ongoing (Job ID: j-233878) Are you a certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AANP) seeking a meaningful opportunity to support Veterans in a flexible, locum tenens role near Madawaska, Maine? We are a government contractor dedicated to serving our nation's Veterans, and we're actively searching for skilled General Medicine Nurse Practitioners to conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments (SHAs). This locum tenens position offers a PRN (as-needed) schedule, allowing you to tailor your work hours to your availability and contribute to a rewarding cause. What You'll Do: Conduct comprehensive C&P exams and SHAs for Veterans, primarily using an interview-based approach with some physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength testing). Analyze medical records and complete standardized forms within a secure government provider portal. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure accurate assessments and timely reporting of Veteran needs. Complete follow-up administrative tasks such as addendums, medical opinions, and diagnostic reviews as required. Who You Are: Active certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AANP) (required). Current and active license to practice medicine in Maine (required). Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions (required). Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions. Comfort and experience with interview-based patient assessments (preferred). Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with Veterans. Access to a personal laptop (excluding MACs).
