Job Description:
Pioneer Valley Equine Associates is seeking a detail-oriented
and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team.
We specialize in providing comprehensive veterinary care with a
commendable focus on the holistic health of horses throughout
Western Massachusetts. As a Veterinary Technician in our practice,
you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical
care, maintaining our standard of service, and ensuring the
wellbeing of our equine patients. This position requires a
combination of medical knowledge, passion for animal welfare, and
the capability to handle various medical instruments with
proficiency. Assist veterinarians in the examination and treatment
of horses, ensuring all procedures are conducted with respect to
animal welfare Perform laboratory tests to help in the diagnosis of
health problems in horses Operate and maintain medical equipment
such as X-ray machines Administer treatments and medications as
prescribed by the veterinarian Provide nursing care and emergency
first aid to animals as needed Educate and advise clients on
maintaining the health and well-being of their horses Assist in
surgical procedures and provide post-operative care Maintain
accurate records of patient care and medication administration
Strong knowledge of veterinary science and medical terminology
Proficient in handling, restraining, and treating horses Ability to
perform laboratory tests and operate medical machinery Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills Capacity to make decisions
and solve problems effectively under pressure Medical Insurance
