Job Description:
Overview: Department: Medical/Surgical Shift: Night Shift,
12-Hour Full-Time The Medical/Surgical RN provides safe,
high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assessment,
planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN delivers direct
patient care, supervises support staff, and provides patient and
family education while maintaining professional nursing standards
within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The RN is accountable for
assigned patient care and collaborates closely with physicians and
the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities: Provide
safe, direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment,
planning, implementation, evaluation). Supervise and guide support
staff and patient/family teaching. Accountable for assigned
patients and their overall care. Communicate patient status,
cardiac monitoring, diagnostic results, and clinical changes to
physicians. Respond quickly to changes in condition or treatment
response. Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per
orders. Maintain accurate EMR documentation and support quality
improvement initiatives. Qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,
TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License. 2. Current BLS
certificate upon hire and maintain current. 3. Current ACLS
certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred. 4.
Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. 5. Ventilator
Management experience preferred. 6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing
(BSN) preferred. Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated
