Pioneer Valley Equine Associates, known for our holistic and highly professional care, is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team in Western Massachusetts. This role requires a passionate individual who is committed to providing exceptional care to horses, ensuring their wellness, and supporting our veterinary services with both clinical and administrative assistance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with horses and a thorough understanding of equine health care practices. Assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating horses, including handling, feeding, and grooming horses Administer medications and prepare treatment solutions under veterinary supervision Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and tissue for analysis Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, including x-ray machines Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in all working areas to prevent the spread of disease Educate and advise horse owners on proper equine care and treatment plans Keep detailed and confidential records of animal treatment plans and procedures Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work cooperatively in a team Hands-on experience with horses and thorough knowledge of equine behavior and health Proficiency in using veterinary medical equipment Capable of physical activities involved in equine care Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential is preferred
