Overview: /n Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Shift: Night
Shift, 12-Hour /n /n The ICU RN provides direct, high-quality care
to critically ill adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
Utilizes the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation,
and evaluation—to monitor hemodynamics, respond to changes in
condition, and implement evidence-based interventions. Collaborates
with physicians and the healthcare team, guides patient and family
education, and ensures ICU standards of care, patient safety, and
confidentiality are consistently maintained. Responsibilities: /n -
Provide direct ICU patient care and monitor condition. /n - Apply
the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate. /n -
Respond to changes in vital signs, hemodynamics, and patient
condition. /n - Communicate with physicians and healthcare teams.
/n - Educate patients and families on treatments and care plans. /n
- Collaborate with nursing staff and maintain ICU standards. /n -
Maintain documentation, privacy, and HIPAA compliance. /n - Respond
to emergencies and rapid condition changes. /n Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING /n /n 1. Current and valid state RN
License. 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. 4. Basic Arrythmia
Interpretation within 30 days of hire. 5. Current ACLS certificate
30 days upon hire and maintain current. 6. Minimum of one year as a
staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred. 7.
Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. 8. Bachelor of
Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. /n /n Central Maine Healthcare
