Location Detail: Backus Hospital (10309) Shift Detail: 12 hour
shift starting at 3pm, every other weekend, every other holiday

our communities. A3 is a 30-bed unit where our dedicated team of
nursing and healthcare professionals provides compassionate care to
a varied Medical/Surgical patient population. Our staff follows
Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols for improved

can learn more about you! JOB SUMMARY Demonstrates clinical
competence through utilization of the nursing process and
development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. Assesses
and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care,
implements and evaluates care provided to patients. Qualifications
Graduate of a school of Nursing. BSN preferred One (1) year RN
experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital
Nurse Residency Program. Two (2) or more years of experience in
this clinical area preferred. Current unrestricted license in good
standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of
Connecticut. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire. Ability to
obtain and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
certifications within 90 days of hire. Ability to obtain and
maintain department specific certifications. Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) certification and certification in clinical area
preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Basic knowledge of
Nursing principles and practices. Ability to read and understand
oral and written instructions. Communicates effectively in order to
provide technical or complex information as well as instruction.
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with
departments, employees, physicians, managers and patients. Ability
to handle multiple priorities, be flexible and a team player.
Ability to work in a stressful environment. Commitment to customer
service. Basic computer knowledge in order to enter/retrieve data.
Requires high level of analytical ability in order to gather and
interpret information from various sources. Able to take the
appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances, problems
and/or emergency situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality at
