Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Mar 9, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position on a 27-bed medical-surgical unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active NH or Compact RN license. Details - 27-bed medical-surgical inpatient unit in a hospital setting - Patient population is primarily elderly (18) with diagnoses including post-op ortho, general surgery, ETOH, CHF, and pneumonia - RN-to-patient ratio of 5:1; LNA-to-patient ratio of 3:1 - 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week - Every other weekend required - Rotating holiday coverage required - Epic EMR experience preferred - Telemetry experience preferred Requirements - Active NH RN license or Compact RN license required; proof of state residency required - Current BLS certification required - ACLS certification preferred - Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or equivalent experience required - Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required - Experience with post-surgical drains, central line care/maintenance, and Foley insertion required - Experience with G tubes, J tubes, NG tubes, and PEG tubes required - Proficiency with IV medication administration and IV push required - Experience with wound care and O2 therapy required - Two manager references required for consideration Additional Information - Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position - Care for a diverse mix of medical and post-operative patients across a range of acuity levels American Traveler Job ID P-680236.
