Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Shift: Night Shift, 12-Hour
The ICU RN provides direct, high-quality care to critically ill
adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Utilizes the nursing
process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to
monitor hemodynamics, respond to changes in condition, and
implement evidence-based interventions. Collaborates with
physicians and the healthcare team, guides patient and family
education, and ensures ICU standards of care, patient safety, and
confidentiality are consistently maintained. Responsibilities:
Provide direct ICU patient care and monitor condition. Apply the
nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate. Respond to
changes in vital signs, hemodynamics, and patient condition.
Communicate with physicians and healthcare teams. Educate patients
and families on treatments and care plans. Collaborate with nursing
staff and maintain ICU standards. Maintain documentation, privacy,
and HIPAA compliance. Respond to emergencies and rapid condition
changes. Qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current
and valid state RN License. 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire
and maintain current. 3. Completion of Critical Care Course
preferred. 4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of
hire. 5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain
current. 6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care
hospital, critical care preferred. 7. Critical Care RN (CCRN)
Certification preferred. 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
