Description: Under the supervision of the EKG/EEG/ECHO Supervisor
and following established technical standards, this position
provides ultrasound images of the heart and related structures of
patients of all ages for physician interpretation. The
Echocardiographer must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of
growth and development over the life span. The Echocardiographer
must be capable of gathering and assessing information relative to
the patient's age-specific needs. The Echocardiographer must
provide the care needed to achieve the desired clinical outcomes.
The Echocardiographer must be able to understand and modify the
therapeutic approach in response to the patient's nonverbal
reactions to therapy. The Echocardiographer should address
psychosocial needs and physical limitations, as well as any other
age or illness specific issues. Benefits include, but are not
