Job Description:
Position Summary: Under direct supervision, performs daily
cleaning tasks for students, faculty and staff in classrooms,
lounges, restrooms, offices, and any other areas assigned in
accordance with standard procedures of the Facilities Services
Department. Responsibilities and Duties: Housekeeping staff p
erform all custodial services-related tasks while demonstrating
service orientation to fellow employees, client staff and
customers. This position will perform basic cleaning functions in
assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed
methods including dusting and damp wipe surfaces, polish metal and
porcelain fixtures, mop and sanitize floors and spot clean walls
and windows. Additional cleaning functions include shampooing and
vacuuming carpets, removing waste from wastebaskets, and replenish
room supplies. This position will use and maintain industrial
cleaning equipment and recommend repairs as needed; measure and mix
cleaning chemicals to perform cleaning functions and assist in
emergency spills upon request. Housekeeping will also observe and
report the general need for repairs to College furniture, buildings
and fixtures. Additional duties include snow removal, event set up
and other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: The physical

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach. The employee
frequently is required to talk, hear and smell. The employee is
occasionally required to climb step ladders or balance and stoop,
kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently climb stairs,
lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision required by the
job is the ability to inspect work. Work Environment The work

license Demonstrated understanding of assigned areas, necessary
supplies and equipment in custodial field Ability to effectively
communicate in English, both verbally and in written form Excellent
