Job Description Job Description POSITION SUMMARY This is a
manual labor position to oversee all processing departments and
freight consolidation. You must communicate with management and
co-workers as a team to assure the flow of product is available
from harvest, processing and final packaging. This process must
meet all Salish Seafoods and Health Department requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Oversee all daily activities associated within the
plant for the production of shellfish and assist with any
processing, incoming freight and freight consolidation when needed.
Responsible to set work schedules for all the departments within
the plant to assure all orders are completed and ready for the
delivery schedule. Responsible to see the proper rotation of
product is done from harvest to final packaging. Responsible to see
that the proper tagging of all shellfish is completed throughout
processing. Responsible too see all HACCP and VIBRIO requirements
are enforced from the start of harvest to the final packaging and
all that data is properly recorded. Responsible to work with sales
daily with available inventory and that all shellfish sold is
properly tagged with all data recorded for customer’s and that data
is recorded properly. Responsible to assist with the set up and
removal of oyster tubs needed for the shucking process. Responsible
to see all the production areas, coolers, freezer, restroom,
breakroom, storage rooms and consolidation areas are cleaned and
sanitized properly daily. Also see that the outside grounds are
kept clean and garbage cans are emptied when needed. Responsible to
see all equipment used during processing is properly cleaned,
sanitized and stored in their proper places. Responsible to assist
with the inspection process from the Health Department and are able
to explain and answer any questions they ask regarding the
processing and packaging of all the products processed. Responsible
to see all packaging supplies are always available and ordered when
low to assure they are available when needed. Attends and/or
facilitates all mandatory meetings and training. Maintains
confidentiality at all times. Maintains awareness and sensitivity
to Native American Culture. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Yes. Will supervise packing, shucking,
clams and singles packing. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment

exposed to inclement weather conditions. Will be required to wear
life jackets whenever working on a boat or structure over water.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES To perform this job successfully,
an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

knowledge, skill, and/or ability for this position. COMPUTER SKILLS
Responsible for maintaining all (D.O.H.) Department of Health
required tests, spreadsheets, logs, and inspections etc. Enter
water discharge results into a database system in compliance with
EPA water discharge permitting processes. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education Required: High School
Diploma/GED. All requirements from health department for shellfish
processing are met and enforced. Education Preferred: N/A
Experience Required: Two years experience in shellfish processing
and packaging. Warehouse experience in ordering supplies and
maintaining inventory of supplies Certificates & Licenses: Must
have valid Washington State Driver’s License. Must take the
required VIBRIO and HACCP training that is required by the D.O.H.
within the first year of employment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The

uninhabited tribal reservation land. Salish Seafoods is located on
5 acres of uplands on Harstine Island adjacent to 5 acres of
tidelands. Our primary shellfish farm, Squaxin Island, also
geographically located in South Puget Sound is one half mile due
west of our main facility. Squaxin Island is approximately 6 miles
in length, and up to one half mile in width. Company Description
