Senior

Scientist/Project Lead who will manage and coordinate R&D projects and the

assigned team members to meet project, company and organization goals. Further, this role will also help with continuous

improvement within assay and product development processes. Successful

candidates will join an exciting and fast-paced team focused on improving human

health worldwide through this highly innovative molecular diagnostics platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES







    • Manage and support R&D projects through

      feasibility and/or development, transfer and product launch
    • Manage projects by developing study designs, work

      streams, timelines and deliverables while driving project execution to

      meet corporate expectations
    • This position may manage several research and

      development employees
    • Delegate project activities and responsibilities in

      order to meet project objectives
    • Work within the established design

      control process for product development and transfer new products from

      R&D into manufacturing
    • Works as part of a multi-disciplinary

      team with other scientists, chemists, engineers and manufacturing

      personnel on product transfer efforts
    • Critically analyze data generated by team members and

      draw conclusions that can be scientifically supported and communicate

      results as needed to the supervisor, R&D team members,

      multidisciplinary teams, and to members of the executive team
    • Demonstrate technical proficiency in

      molecular techniques, creativity, collaboration with others and

      independent thought
    • Provide technical expertise on

      relevant project concepts, investigate problem areas, and areas of

      desirable product improvement
    • Escalate issues which cannot be

      resolved by the team
    • Ensure documentation is complete and meets defined

      requirements
    • Good communication skills, capable of

      communicating ideas to colleagues

    • Understanding of the commercial value

      of the work


      BASIC QUALIFICATIONS







        • MS degree in biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or

          closely related field with 7+ years of relevant industry experience
        • Hands-on knowledge of nucleic acid amplification and

          detection technologies experience
        • Hands-on molecular diagnostic product development

          experience in a Design Control environment

        • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in product development

          through published papers, patents, launched products, and/or presentations
        • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with

          minimal supervision

          Experience

          working under design control and with FDA regulatory submissions



          • Experience with leading and executing V&V studies

            for IVD product development
          • Work with clinical samples using molecular diagnostic

            technologies
          • Inventive, with ability to implement ideas in the

            laboratory
          • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities,

            with good attention to detail
          • Ability to work as part of a team
          • Prior experience leading a small team consisting of

            Scientists and Research Associates on product development activities from

            feasibility to product transfer

            PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



            • Ph.D. biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or closely

              related field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience

              --

              Understanding

              of the procedures, processes, record keeping, software systems and

              infrastructure of product development and product transfer is highly desirable



              • Understanding of the internal

                regulatory requirements of bringing new products to market
              • Isothermal nucleic acid amplification experience a plus
