The Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant will work to fill assigned vacancies within specific divisional and department units. Incumbent will work closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to anticipate and respond to hiring needs including training, conducting interviews, qualifying candidates, and ensuring a compliant hiring process. This position will also be responsible for sourcing, identifying and screening highly qualified talent for hard to fill positions across campus.


Dartmouth College is seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant to join our small but mighty team of three in the beautiful location of New Hampshire. Nestled between the Connecticut River and the White Mountains, Dartmouth College is committed to excellence in research and teaching and ensuring a rich and diverse student experience.

The Dartmouth College Talent Acquisition team oversees the recruitment of all staff (non-academic) positions resulting in 300-400 filled positions annually. The strategic priorities for the team include:

  1. Promote and provide opportunities for a comprehensive and compliant search process that ensures a positive candidate experience and the hiring of diverse talent.

  2. Expand Dartmouth College's employer branding to promote its positive assets and inclusiveness.

  3. Source top talent to ensure robust applicant and candidate pools.

  4. Retain staff through development and accessibility of applicable resources.

Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant:

  • Six plus years of recruiting experience with a minimum of 1 year in a complex, multi-layered organization
  • Familiarity with a broad range of employment categories
  • Experience building strong business relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers
  • Strong sourcing and networking skills
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws and managing compliant searches

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated use of social media and internet sourcing for recruitment
  • Familiarity with electronic applicant tracking system (PeopleAdmin)
  • Experience supporting diversity recruitment initiatives
  • Demonstrated project planning and management
  • Experience working in higher education setting

Key Accountabilities



Manages 30-60 requisitions in collaboration with campus partners and hiring managers, providing consultation to hiring managers on all aspects of the full recruitment lifecycle from position creation to recruitment and onboarding. Supports hiring managers with recruitment strategy and ensuring an inclusive search process.

Percentage Of Time 70% Description

Sourcing and Networking:

Develops and maintains a pipeline of highly qualified talent that are available to present to hiring managers. Cultivates candidate pools and manages candidate engagement using contemporary and "high-touch" methods. Creatively identifies various channels and opportunities for building network of prospective candidates.

Percentage Of Time 15% Description

Diversity Initiatives:

Supports Dartmouth diversity recruitment goals/initiatives by participating in and promoting programs that attract qualified candidates from underrepresented groups and ensures recruitment plans demonstrate measurable commitment to diversity. Maintains and builds relationships and partnerships with national, state, local, community-based and professional organizations to further Dartmouth's diversity and inclusiveness goals.
