The Senior Benefits Analyst Contractor is responsible for
providing analytical and project management support for various
retirement and health and welfare benefit initiatives. This
position performs a variety of retirement and benefits program
activities, including but not limited to: program analysis,
assisting with program design, implementation and communication, as
well as regulatory compliance and education. Responsibilities also
include partnering with internal team members and third-party
vendors to manage the completion of the day-to-day processing
tasks. This position is responsible for engaging with employees and
HR team members on retirement and health and welfare benefits
related activities and inquiries.
- Administer employee benefits such as life, health, dental and
prescription insurance, flexible spending accounts, health care
spending accounts, disability plans, accommodations programs,
retirement savings/pension plans, and COBRA in accordance with plan
documents and benefit policies/procedures; serve as a contact
between vendor and employee. Ensure the health/welfare program and
the retirement plans are administered in accordance with plan
documents and meet regulatory requirements.
- Administer day-to-day operation of retirement benefit plans in
accordance with plan documents & established procedures. Apply
benefits starts, stops, and adjustments within HRIS. Research plan
provisions per plan documents, occasionally consulting legal
counsel. Conduct pension calculation data collection & processing.
Responsible for processing death claims. Receive requests from
participants, gather pertinent data, assemble into prescribed
format, coordinate benefit calculation via actuarial vendor,
communicate back to participant, and coordinate payments.
- Responsible for external audit preparations and support.
Prepare employee/participant census data for auditors & actuaries.
Prepare data/documentation requested by Auditors. Research &
respond to Auditors inquiries. Provides general support to
annual/ongoing benefit plan auditing processes.
- Assist with potential/proposed new/change initiatives relative
to benefit plan design by running cost comparisons and performing
related analyses. Assist in writing/updating corresponding benefit
policies to comply with federal, state, and local laws and
regulations and internal procedures.
- Perform analysis on plan design and administration and make
recommendations for changes in plan design or for streamlining plan
- Manage administration of Executive benefit plans.
- Monitor & validate data/integrity on both inbound & outbound
files to/from vendors to ensure accuracy of employee indicative
data, plan enrollments, and changes. Performs and validates success
& accuracy of data uploads.

- Specialized Knowledge : Possess solid working knowledge of
subject matter (ERISA / COBRA/ HIPAA /FMLA /ACA)
- Special Skills : Expertise in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint;
Solid analytical and problem solving skills with attention to
detail; Strong oral, presentation and written communication skills;
Ability to build collaborative relationships; Excellent
organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and
multi-task in fast paced environment; Solid interpersonal and
