POSITION SUMMARY The Laboratory Aide is responsible for: ' Performing venipunctures and capillary draws on Inpatients, Emergency Room patients, Home Draw patients, outside clients such as Nursing Homes, and Outpatients as required. Patient#s ages served are newborn to geriatric. ' Answering telephone, taking messages and acting as the Customer Service Representative of the Laboratory (looking up results, phoning panic value results, phoning/faxing stats, etc.) ' Performing and processing EKG#s and Holter Monitoring ' Acting as a general receptionist for laboratory. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School diploma Experience: Preference is given to persons with prior phlebotomy training either though an accredited course or previous experience. ASCP certification in phlebotomy is desired/preferred. Persons with prior customer service experience desired but not mandatory. Computer skills are mandatory. Prior experience performing and processing EKGs/Holter Monitoring is desired but not mandatory. Minimum experience # must have performed at least 50 successful venipunctures in the past.

Education: High School diploma
