To provide critical data tracking and analysis in ensuring a high-quality, strategically-aligned, and timely data measurement program in the Office of Communications. Collect, log, and manage data across multiple channels and sources to help drive content and publicity decisions. Additionally, to oversee and manage the design and delivery of qualitative and quantitative reports that provide the analysis of key communications functions and performance metrics.

Description Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as statistics or business administration
  • Thorough knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio, and Google Sheets
  • Adept at using current and emerging social media analytics, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of analytics tools, including Cision, Talkwalker, Nuvi, and Brandwatch
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and content management systems
  • Excellent problem solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools and technology quickly
  • Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes and projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with AP Style guidelines
  • Information presentation and visualization experience
  • Database management or design experience

Key Accountabilities

Description

Data Entry

  • Tracks and analyzes earned media coverage volume, tone, and topics and identifies emerging general and education news trends
  • Manages, integrates, and curates data from multiple digital sources and social media management platforms
  • Tracks volume, sentiment, and trends of online conversations and topics critical to Dartmouth
  • Performs data entry to maintain web, email, and social media analytics reporting systems

Percentage Of Time 40% Description

Daily Media Analysis

  • Generates daily written reports via email of media highlights including current and emerging reputational issues related to Dartmouth or higher education in general.
  • Provides synopsis or insights and includes relevant links as available

Percentage Of Time 20% Description

Analytics

  • Builds, develops, and maintains reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards, and performance metrics that support key communications decisions
  • Initiates and leads the design and refinement of digital properties with data insights
  • Stays up to date on analytics trends and best practices

Percentage Of Time 20% Description

Report Generation

  • Generates quantitative and qualitative monthly, and quarterly, and special topics reports on media coverage and web/social analytics
  • Ensures data accuracy and consistent longitudinal reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for analytics gathering and reporting

Percentage Of Time 15% Description

Support for Office of Communications Workflows

  • Night and weekend media monitoring may be required as part of issues management or crisis communications
  • Anticipates future demands of technology initiatives

Percentage Of Time 5%
